How to Overcome Procrastination
Do you know what happens when you give procrastinator a fantastic idea? Nothing!
If you are a procrastinator, stop giving yourself excuses that is better to do something later, the moment is NOW not later. The clock is ticking on your dreams if you are not acting righteously. If you are saying you will wake up early in the morning to do some job search, but then in the morning convincing yourself it can be done later and go back to sleep. Sure, you’re a procrastinator; the rest of your to-do list is probably getting cleared quickly. If you’ve procrastinated on to do list for a while, it could be that it’s not even important or applicable to you anymore. If there’s something you’re struggling to get done, ask yourself why you’re doing it in the first place perhaps it will make you realize that you’re procrastinating because you’re working on the wrong thing. If you have a big, important job ahead of you, it’s likely to procrastinate because it’s overwhelming.
1-If you want to stop procrastinating, you have to accept the unpredictability of time. The best way to get something done is to start taking the first step; you don’t have to see the whole staircase to figure out your next step. While you are waiting for the perfect moment, a better one could passed by, if you wait till you are ready, you’ll be waiting for the rest of your life and remember that fear of failure always creeps around excessive perfectionism.
2-Perhaps your reaction to the problem at work, in love, in relationships, are not related to maintaining an image of yourself, as an exception to the laws of nature. If you want to lose weight, you have to know the rules of eating. If you want to manage your spending, you have to know the rules of budgeting. For some people they have idealized their image, this is too much of a blow to feeling special, so dieters, procrastinators, and over spenders don’t want the treatment to work, because to them, the cost of being ordinary is worse than the benefits of the treatment you have a tendency to bite your tongue sometimes when they tell you how hard they try.
3-Strangely, it may sound it’s easier to deal with our own imperfection than with others’. Perhaps we are so much more invested in our own sense of being special and we have so much more facts to support it. To deal with your imperfection, you need to watch how reality has presented you with real rewards and rightness has provided you. If you believe that you are in fact perfect, nothing will work until you fail. You can put down the shocking load of importance. The process is merely to laugh at yourself when you claim importance, the laugh of affection that a loving parent gives a child who says he can fly like a bird.
4-When you are agitated by stress, you are possibly to put more things off and put up with procrastination due to lack of energy. This is where you feel stressed, put things off, and then feel stressed thinking about what you’ve left undone. As you do this, you leave more things undone and feel snowed under. This is a typically fierce cycle. Let’s look at how to substitute calmness for stress, reduce anxiety, and procrastinate less. There is a difference between stressed and anxiety. When stressed, you are reacting to a change and when anxious, you expect that something frightening is coming your way.
5-When your mind and body are in a calm place, example “Meditation” is a proof way to do this, you feel in control. By acting to take advantage of this opportunity, you are in a better position to build confidence by meeting challenges. You’ll have less time for procrastination and are likely to procrastinate less. You may still feel stressed by change, but you’ll bounce back faster because you are more focused.
Allow yourself to be human; strangely enough it will make you a happier and more productive person. However, anxiety, fears and procrastination feelings may not vanish with just attitude-changing alone. Yet, this is a starting point for putting a series of positive change in your daily life and your continuous Action will do the constructive work for happier life.
